Common Reasons Your Invitee Is Not Already Added to Your Event

  • Created the event without adding guests: Edit the event to include the guest(s).
  • Ensure you are in Edit mode: You may be in view-only mode.
  • The event is on a calendar you do not own: double-check you are logged into the correct Google account in Chrome.

If you need to invite someone to a calendar event, follow the steps below.


1. Open Google Calendar in Chrome.


2. Open the Event You Want to Update.
    Option 1: Invite someone to an existing event.

  • Click the event on your calendar.

  • Select the Pencil icon (Edit event).


    Option 2: Create a new event and invite someone.

  • Click Create (top-left), or click directly on a date/time on the calendar.

  • Select Event.


3. Add the Guest(s).

  • In the event details window, locate Add guests.

  • Type the person’s email address.

  • Select the correct address when it appears.


4. Save and Send the Invitation.

  • Click Save.

  • When prompted, select Send to email the invitation to guests.
