Common Reasons Your Invitee Is Not Already Added to Your Event
- Created the event without adding guests: Edit the event to include the guest(s).
- Ensure you are in Edit mode: You may be in view-only mode.
- The event is on a calendar you do not own: double-check you are logged into the correct Google account in Chrome.
If you need to invite someone to a calendar event, follow the steps below.
1. Open Google Calendar in Chrome.
- Go to calendar.google.com.
- Sign in with your Google account if prompted.

2. Open the Event You Want to Update.
Option 1: Invite someone to an existing event.
Click the event on your calendar.
Select the Pencil icon (Edit event).

Option 2: Create a new event and invite someone.
Click Create (top-left), or click directly on a date/time on the calendar.
Select Event.

3. Add the Guest(s).
In the event details window, locate Add guests.
Type the person’s email address.
Select the correct address when it appears.

4. Save and Send the Invitation.
Click Save.
When prompted, select Send to email the invitation to guests.
